infiniteYagya · The Creed

infiniteYagya exists to aid in the survival of all life on earth, one name at a time.

We do it the oldest way we know: a name spoken with a wish for its own good into a sacred fire in a holy place; special gifts given to Brahmins, to the hungry and to animals; and a group that stands with every person who trusts us with a name.

  1. Blessing is the duty, and the duty never sleeps

The rites are finite, but the intention is eternal.

  2. Every name comes for a good intention

Every name comes to the fire for a good intention, and every breath into the fire echoes a good intention.

  3. We are there

Whatever you need to tell us, we listen. You can always tell us.

  4. We underpromise and overdeliver

Nothing is sure in life, but we will always try to exceed your expectations.

  5. Grateful for every name

A name is not just a name. A name is a story, and every story deserves a happy ending.

  6. Everyone is welcome

The Yagya is open to anyone, of any faith or none, from anywhere in the world. We say so plainly: you are welcome to do this, for yourself or for someone you love, and a name is enough to begin. Beliefs stay each person's own.

  7. We understand you

We understand the basic principles of life: one day, one week or one month can find you in very different circumstances. If you need to take a break, or to leave, we understand completely, and you are welcome back whenever you are ready.

  8. Resonance is the key

Each name is read aloud by a Brahmin in a set way and a set tone, faithful to the ancient tradition and, as the tradition holds, in tune with the order of the universe. It is said that way, or it is not said at all.

  9. Your moment is yours and yours alone

In every Yagya there is a moment when your name is spoken, and that moment is yours. Its recording goes by private link to the email address given when the name was booked, to keep and to share as you choose. The names you give us are for the Yagya.

  10. Exchange in abundance

Every exchange with us matters. Whatever you choose, we aim to give you as much as we possibly can in return.

  11. Giving is in our nature

We work in Vrindavan, a holy city, and that asks more of us. Giving belongs to the work there: lamps floated on the river Yamuna, cows and monkeys fed, feasts served to the poor. It is simply who we are, and part of our everyday existence.

  12. Real Yagyas, shown as they are

Every Yagya is performed by Brahmins, and your recording shows it as it happened.

  13. The truth tends toward simplicity

We tell the tradition simply and exactly, as the texts and the Brahmins hand it down, and we name our sources. If anything ever gets out of hand, remember the simple principles, and they will lead you to the resolution.

  14. We bring Vrindavan to you

Not everyone can go to Vrindavan, and not everyone can stay there. But your name will be there, and that might just be the next best thing.

Why the cows

We don't consider cow as animal. We consider cow as mother. We call it mother cow. It is written in our scriptures that the entire universe, all gods, all goddesses, they reside in the cow. And when we feed a cow, it is believed that we are being thankful to the universe. We are actually serving the universe, serving every god and goddess which is there in this system.
